Sol Barrera Watters

Hello, my name is Sol and I live in Central America. I taught myself about the WWW when it was just starting out back in 1996, and it still excites me because of the new tools and breakthroughs!

My work experience consists of a mix of Web Development Consulting and Freelance Translating Services.

When working as a Web Dev consultant I’ve undertaken tasks such as:  Working with CMS systems: Installing, configuring, migrating, backing up and customizing [Wordpress, Joomla! Drupal], Adapting purchased themes and templates to Clients specs, Evaluating plugins, themes templates and software for client projects, Installing and adapting scripts (PHP, Javascript), Creating custom software (ASP/VbScript, PHP).

As a freelancer interpreter and translator my tasks included mainly working with printed and digital translations such as manuals, websites, brochure and pamphlet translations and more.

Some of my WordPress Projects…

Fondo Panamá 2017

As the city of Panama nears its 500th anniversary, the Mayor’s office along with other entities are launching initiatives to celebrate the occasion. This website announces the contest and allows applicants to send their proposals for evaluation.  Technologies used are Divi theme by Elegant Themes, Gravity Forms and Gravity Views to name a few.

Subcontracted by Epiphy Corp. This was a two part project. First a one page project created to promote a contest to find a trademark for Panama City’s upcoming 500 year anniversary. Implemented with Divi Theme.
Later a second stage added a blog and a third stage the interactive contest submission with Gravity forms.

Subcontracted by Epiphy Corp. The client, an architectural group, wanted an easier way to maintain their own WordPress site via the back end. A new look was not required but I tested several “builder” solutions and settled on the Divi Theme. This gave them a little more flexibility from their original custom coded website.
